State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology- an autonomous educational institution of higher professional education in the Gatchinsky district of the Leningrad region. The Institute is the leading university in the Leningrad region in the direction of "Economics and Management".

The Rector of the Institute since its foundation is Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honored Teacher of Russia Roman Naumovich Averbukh.

Story

The Leningrad Regional Institute of Economics and Finance was established in 1996 by a decree of the Government of the Leningrad Region and is funded from the regional budget.

In 2008, the Institute was awarded the Quality Award of the Government of the Leningrad Region.

On November 2, 2009, the institute received a new name: AOU VPO LO "State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology" (GIEFPT).

The science

The institute has a master's program (in the areas of "management", "economics") and postgraduate studies. Postgraduate study at SIEFT is an integral part of a unified system of continuous education and a stage of postgraduate professional education. Training of specialists is carried out in the specialty 08.00.05 - "Economics and management of the national economy." The institute has a dissertation council. It is necessary to note the participation of some teachers of SIEFT in the implementation of scientific projects carried out by other universities and research institutes of St. Petersburg. The results of research work are used by teachers in the educational process when preparing textbooks and collections of practical tasks, developing and updating academic disciplines, writing monographs, lecture texts, as well as when choosing directions for dissertation research. The teaching staff of the university is developing for the enterprises of the Leningrad region, in which graduate students and students of the institute also take part.

State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology is an autonomous educational institution of higher education in the Leningrad Region (license for the right to conduct educational activities 90L01 No. 0009007, registration No. 1975 dated March 01, 2016, certificate of state accreditation series 90A01 No. 0002080, registration No. 1983 dated June 06, 2016.). The Institute was founded in 1996 by order of the Government of the Leningrad Region and until 2009 was called the Leningrad Regional Institute of Economics and Finance - "LOIEF".

Since 2001, the State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology has been developing a mechanism for integrating multilevel educational institutions. To date, there are 9 faculties in SIEFT: 5 faculties train specialists of higher professional education; at 4 faculties they study according to the programs of secondary vocational education.

The university has 15 departments, which employ a highly qualified teaching staff (73% of teachers have academic degrees and titles). Since 2003, the SIEFT has opened a postgraduate course in the specialty 080005 Economics and Management of the National Economy. Since 2010, the dissertation council has been successfully operating at the State Institute of Physics and Technology. The main task of the institute (mission) is to train high-level specialists in all educational programs, taking into account the requirements of the labor market, by introducing new learning technologies; development of social partnership with employers; improvement of the quality management system.

Since February 2008, by decision of the Russian Academy of Education, SIEFT as the first autonomous university in Russia has been the basis for the federal experiment "Formation of an intra-university organizational and economic mechanism for the functioning of an autonomous educational institution of higher education and monitoring of its activities for 2008 - 2012." The Russian Academy of Education also included SIEFT in the international experiment "Rating assessment of the economic performance of the quality of training specialists in the system of vocational education and the impact of higher education on the innovative development of the region."

In 2008 SIEFT became the winner of the Quality Award of the Government of the Leningrad Region, in 2009 and 2011 it became one of the leading educational institutions in Russia and included in the National Register "Leading educational institutions of Russia - 2009" and "Leading educational institutions of Russia - 2010". The full-scale implementation and continuous improvement of the quality management system for the training of specialists was recognized by the decision of the Academic Council as a priority task of the university. Based on the priority task of the university, in December 2011 the SIEFT quality management system was certified for compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2011 (ISO 9001:2011) in relation to the conduct of scientific and educational activities under the programs of pre-university, higher, postgraduate, additional professional education and editorial and publishing activities.

SIEFT conducts serious research work, scientific and practical studies of the mechanisms of integration of educational institutions and knowledge management in the field of higher education are innovative. The effectiveness of research work is confirmed by a sufficient number of educational, methodological and scientific publications, participation in scientific conferences. The editorial and publishing department (RIO), which is a structural subdivision of the institute, whose purpose is to carry out the publishing functions of the university at a professional level, is successfully operating in the SIEFT.

Since 2007, the GIEFT Publishing House has been publishing the Journal of Legal and Economic Research, established by the university, an all-Russian scientific periodical that has subscribers in many regions of the Russian Federation. This is a peer-reviewed journal that is included in the list of VAK, the RSCI system and the main database of RUNEB. An important place in informing the public, students, employees about the activities and life of the institute is occupied by the newspaper "News of Alma mater", which is distributed in all municipalities of the Leningrad region.

The SIEFT provides talented students with ample opportunities for research activities. A student scientific society has been created at the institute, the purpose of which is to intensify the scientific creativity of young people. The result of such an educational policy of the university is the annual victories of SIEFT students at all-Russian, interregional and international olympiads and competitions (for students and young scientists). In recent years, more than 100 students of the institute have become winners and prize-winners of the most prestigious and well-known student competitions and competitions: interuniversity, interregional, all-Russian, international.

Within the framework of the agreement between the SIEFT and the Committee on Labor and Employment of the Leningrad Region, an industry youth labor exchange was created on the basis of the institute. In the field of international cooperation SIEFT signed long-term partnership agreements with Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences (Finland). Thanks to this cooperation, the students of the institute have the opportunity to listen to lectures of specialists from Finnish Universities, as well as to receive education abroad. Graduates of SIEFT hold key positions at the enterprises of the Leningrad region, successfully develop their own business. They are characterized by the spirit of success, enterprise, high social activity.
